Brow Lift

A brow lift is typically performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. Dr. Montfort will determine which technique to perform based on the individual needs of each patient.

What is the brow lift surgery?

One of the earliest signs of aging are the stress lines that form in the upper face. Time, gravity, and stress leave their marks on our foreheads around the eyes. These result in a tired, distressed, or even angry look. A brow lift (or “forehead lift”) raises frowning eyebrows and removes unsightly wrinkles from between the eyebrow and forehead resulting in a more youthful look. The tired, sad, or angry look is transformed into a rejuvenated, refreshed appearance.

All this activity leaves its mark. The result is deep forehead wrinkling and horizontal and vertical frown lines. Also developing with years, gravity, and occasionally heredity, sagging, heavy eyebrows can often make someone look constantly tired and unhappy. The eyes actually appear smaller.

Am I a good candidate for a Brow lift?

You may be a candidate for a brow lift (forehead lift) if you have a sagging forehead or brows that hang too low and too close to the eyes. You may also desire a forehead lift if you have deep vertical furrows between the eyebrows (frown lines).

A forehead lift is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia or monitored sedation. The incisions are usually made behind the hairline. The operation is done by lifting and repositioning the forehead skin, during which time the muscles that cause frown lines are weakened.
